A few days in to the New Year and I think I’ll do the first of a regular-ish post.
Recently, I was given a Fitbit Charge HR from my the lovely Mrs Pitts.

This monitors a few different things, among which are the number of steps taken in a day, my heart rate, the amount of floors I’ve climbed and others. Being a total statistics geek means that I will be sharing this information with you… Expect graphs in the future, but you are safe for now.
Since the beginning of the year, up to and including yesterday (5th January), I have:
- walked 30.73 km (19 miles)
- taken 41,201 steps – 3 of the 5 days have seen me exceed the recommended 10,000 steps a day
- climbed 91 floors
- slept for 1749 minutes (29 hours and 9 minutes)
- burned 15,094 calories.
This is all part of the attempt to shift my belly which has been going on for 18 months or so now. The weight has fallen off quite nicely by changing my diet, but that has stagnated and I need to go further. I have begun taking regular walks after work. I have made an effort to move more – for instance, on Monday we had training at a different school to where I work, but one that was close to home, so I walked the whole day. I will get there!
