20: What do you see on a morning?

Well, the answer to that could be 5 planets for the next month or so.

Venus has been very visible on clear days for the last week or two – it is the third brightest object in our sky after the Sun and Moon anyway – but it looks dazzling against the bright blue of a winter’s morning.

Mercury, Saturn, Mars and Jupiter will join them though and, for the first time in over a decade, five planets will grace our skies. The spectacle will be best seen before dawn and Mercury will fade away quicker than the rest towards the end of the viewing window.

That’s definitely something worth looking up for.
