This evening, we played for the Christmas Light Switch on at The White Rose Centre. It’s not somewhere I go very often – six years working there has put me off – but being there for an occasion like that is quite rare as they really don’t like having bands in. I’m never sure of the reason why.
The utter highlight for me was helping a small child out who wanted to conduct the band. I had to oblige.
It meant that for 3 or so minutes I didn’t need to think. The guys in the band did a fabulous job of keeping it all together – their listening skills really made that piece work well without a conductor!
Anyway, it was a long evening, but enjoyable overall.
