Now, as always, this is the last thing I do before going up to bed. However, I have normally been changed out of my work clothes for a good long time before sitting down to write. Not so today.
I have kept them on simply because there was no point getting changed. I walked in at roughly 9pm, maybe a bit before.
Tonight was a geocaching event (GC3PW4K), which I ended up missing due to traffic. Here is my log:
I really hope that bullman will allow us to log this. Grubbly arrived on his own far too late at 6:50 due to horrendous traffic. However, while in the car park feeling sorry that I had missed the action, a kind voice asked if I was alright. This voice belonged to lizardrobb’s partner (I assume). I walked over for a brief chat and assurances that he would vouch for my presence! He also guided me towards Tricky Vicky further down the hill. To be honest, quite a few of the other attendees will have passed me on their way out. There were other cars around at that time, but not knowing the area, wanting to stay safe (particularly after walking down to Tricky Vicky with nothing but my phone’s light for guidance) and beginning to feel quite panicked by the situation, I jumped in the car and left. Sorry I couldn’t sign your well prepared book.
Here’s lizardrobb’s log mentioning my visit:
Attended with my wife, son Jason and geobaby Amelia!! Great to see so many people there at the first event cache I have been to.
On the way out we bumped into Grubbly who was a bit miffed that he had missed all the action due to bad traffic . I promised I would vouch for him, so I now confirm that Grubbly did make it!!
Cheers to Bullman…
Keep on caching!
I just hope the owner of the event allows me to keep the log as I was at the location, just a little late. The ideas was that it was a flash mob event lasting five minutes beginning at 6:30. I got there at 6:50. If it weren’t for that kind voice, I wouldn’t have had a leg to stand on.
Still, if that log does get deleted, I grabbed another cache (which I could sign) just in case as today was a calendar gap and it will keep our streak alive.
The journey to the cache took an hour, and it was another hour until I was home. Geocaching’s supposed to be fun – but not when you’re alone in the dark.
The other stress involved band and a gig that is becoming a nightmare to organise. All will be well.
In moustache news, £10 was donated to me by two parents today. I am still very grateful!
