Day 192: I am the 4,659,668,831st

It’s strange how the internet works. The second most popular page on the BBC News site isn’t from today, nor this week, month or even year, but from 27th October 2011.

The page in question is titled: “7 billion people and you: What’s your number?” It is a sort test to work out where you stand in the 7 billion (see the title for my position), my country’s population (62,035,570) and my life expectancy (77.4 years).

7 billion

I’ve written about the face of 7 billion before and it seems that the appetite for this figure isn’t going away!

Band tonight was the penultimate rehearsal before the summer break and I have to say was the most enjoyable one of the year. Certainly the band is sounding fabulous at the moment and I know that with a guest drummer on Sunday we will be brilliant.

Work today was good too, only in during the morning and we focussed on a rehearsal for next week’s summer concert then began the final writing task for the year – a choose your own adventure thing written in PowerPoint. Hopefully, they will come up with some interesting ideas!
