Today was the British Grand Prix! I’ve been excited about it for so long! Qualifying had set up an interesting grid, the weather was fabulous and all was good.
Unlike Friday and Saturday, we were confined to one seat today in Village – part of the of new Loop section. This was a good place to be as quite a bit of the action happened there. The race was full of drama, mainly involving tyres failing all over the place – always the left rear. It happened twice in front of us, and three other times around the circuit. In the end, a safety care period was needed to clear debris from the track.
Further interest happened when Sebastian Vettel‘s gearbox failed on the start/finish line, triggering a second safety car period as his car was in a dangerous position.
The race generally was far better than the 2004 edition – the last time I was there – some action actually happened in this race, for example…
