Had my worst nightmare today, a migraine during a lesson.
It began behind my right eye and moved around my head, backwards towards my shoulders. The hardest thing I find about my migraines is that I struggle to focus on more than one thing. So, in the middle of a class full of children, when they all need you for something or other, it’s surprisingly difficult to manage.
My migraines aren’t usual. I’ve only really suffered from three or four proper migraines – and most of these happen during the night and begin in my stomach. Apparently, these abdominal migraines are quite rare in themselves, but an angry stomach in the middle of the night is a sign that I’m going to suffer a horrible migraine shortly afterwards. The last of these made me lose my sight temporarily and they are very scary things.
Today’s wasn’t the worst I’ve had. I think my body knew that I had to get through the day no matter what, so it ploughed onwards. I explained how I felt to my classes and they were quite accommodating – as in they were quiet and worked in a dimmed room. They also had to only speak one at a time as I knew I couldn’t focus on anything more. They did a very good job guiding me through the day!
When I got home, I slept for a while. The sleep helps so much with my head. As a result, I don’t feel very well prepared for tomorrow’s parents’ evening. I just hope that I don’t feel unwell at all tomorrow, and so will be getting an early night.
In other news, I managed to save just over £300 on my car insurance renewal by shopping around. My premium is now approaching the acceptable level of cost… it’s still ridiculous though. All of this was possible because of One Sure Insurance, so make sure you check them out to see how they can help you.
Hello Mr Rhodes too!
