I’d like to say that I’m looking forward to a normal week, but I’ve realised that such a thing does not exist. Mrs Pitts is away for a few nights this week meaning that I have sole responsibility for the cat. That could go well.
Today, however, flew by with barely anything actually happening. I introduced by class to Alfred, Lord Tennyson‘s The Lady Of Shalott, worked on my maths group’s understanding of finding fractions and percentages of numbers and then looked at the history of the Olympic games by creating a timeline of all the host countries of the summer and winter games since 1896…
After school I worked with a group of three children in a maths booster session then returned home.
At home, Kit was pleased to have some company and we played with a cat toy for a while. I had just as much fun as her, I’m sure. Then Mrs Pitts appeared, made a beautiful smothered chicken for tea and we sat and worked with the TV on while Kit ran around the house with a hint of craziness we’ve never seen before.
Overall, a lovely, normal day. No additional rehearsals, no driving for miles, just getting up, going to work and returning home to my lovely wife, fish and cat.
What more could a man want?
