Day 17: Let Me Tell You A Tale…

Imagine a scenario, if you will. It involves 5 people, and a fish. There was a cat, but he is not present during this time. For the purposes of the tale, the 5 people shall be given letters instead of names. Partly for anonymity. Partly to increase the mysterious nature of said tale.

So, back to scene setting…

Imagine a scenario, if you will. Last Sunday morning, a quiet yet frosty day, D was clearing the windscreen of his car, and doing a mighty fine job of it too. A approached D with a baffling request. She wished to speak with D and E together. E was not ready to be spoken to, being only half dressed, but she rushed as was her way, when D beckoned her down to help fulfil the aforementioned request. A had taken the opportunity, while E was making herself decent, to retrieve C to participate in the situation. A and C informed D and E that, although they enjoyed the proximity they had to D and E, they had grown tired of B and so sought a new location within the alphabet. The fish, F, witnessed all of the this, and swam around in shock.

So, the following day, when B had followed his regular morning routine, starting words such as bed and breakfast, he began the boredom of work.

After seeing off C to his learning establishment of choice, A decided to pack up their things and depart for pastures new, leaving B blissfully unaware of their fresh start (D and E assume C returned from his day of knowledge to his newly negotiated position within the alphabet.)

When D and E returned home later that day, they informed F, who swam with interest, that the newly named B’s house was in darkness, just like him. That evening, D and E noticed that B had arrived home, stayed briefly, then left, not to be seen until the following night. This pattern recurred until yesterday, when there was no sign of B whatsoever. Not that D and E check whether B’s car is there every half an hour or so…

However, on the evening of Day 17, just as D was arriving home from a pre-arranged musical meeting, B pulled up in his car. E, being a helpful person, not at all nosey, and considering the amount that D had to carry, rushed to open the door to observe B’s movements help D inside.

Now, B may have sensed the watchful eyes of D, E and potentially, F (although looking around corners is somewhat tricky for a fish) and B remained in his vehicle, despite turning his engine off before D had even got out of his. D and E thought this was somewhat suspicious, since B is neither elderly nor infirm. Perhaps then, he was just trying to avoid a potentially tricky conversation with D. E wonders how long it will be before B realises that he may need to explain to D and E where A and C are. F will be kept in the loop too.

As far as we are aware, no letters have been harmed during the creation of this blog, but the alphabet as we know it has been permanently altered:

B         D E F G H I J K L A C M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z

Oh, and hello Shaun!
