Already I love how I have shifted my thinking to try to answer a question.
Day 1 displayed a few of the photos from the previous year and I think I will still do that, just maybe at the beginning of each month to reflect on things that have altered since then.
For now though, I’ll continue like this and try to both pose and answer a question that might reveal more of who I am.
If anything, the urge to write comes over me a few times a year – and then life gets in the way. If you look at the peaks and troughs of the posts on here you will see that. I plan to write more, but don’t expect it to be something I manage every day.
Personally, I have never really seen the point of a New Year’s Resolution. If a change needs to be made, it should be carefully considered beforehand. I don’t ever think that doing things on a whim is worthwhile – I’m talking about where life changes are concerned here. Spontaneity isn’t something that comes easily to me. I love a plan. But it is sometimes necessary too.
When we decided to lose weight, it came because we were wanting to do something about it. There have been blips, usually when we come out of our work routine, but mostly we have stuck rigidly to a decent diet and our shapes have changed as a result. The extra work that we are both starting to put in – Mrs Pitts is often out running now, and I like to go for a quick half-hour walk after work – is also starting to benefit us.
I talked about Facebook yesterday, but scanning through my feed over the past couple of days has seen at least 12 of my friends giving up drinking for January, 2 of them declaring that they are leaving the site altogether and a further handful giving up smoking. I wish all these people well in their endeavours and I hope it leads to a healthier lifestyle or gives them what they hope it will.
