Mary & Steven’s 2015 F1 Adventure: Australia & Malaysia

We arrived in Australia to a quiet welcome. No one had been expecting us to appear at all and it turned out we were quite unprepared…

The Mighty Manor Motors are back. We had to cut some corners by modifying last year’s car, and Dave managed to find enough bits to make two cars, but we got there. McLaren were really keen for us to return, but then we stop them from being at the back of the grid. When we can actually get our car going.

In Australia, our cars weren’t ready in time to do any racing and we received a bit of a rough ride from the press. Some sort of computer glitch which was down to the preparation of our assets for auction meaning that everything we had from 2014 had been wiped. Still, we had plenty of time to see the sights of Melbourne – something the other drivers didn’t quite get chance to do. Mary cuddled koalas and Steven bought a fetching hat with corks attached…

On to Malaysia.

This was another strange weekend. At least here the cars worked for long enough to do a few laps. We never went on the track at the same time – for whatever reason – and Steven ended up not racing at all. Something to do with fuel. Mary did the full race. Nearly. She was three laps down by the time Vettel had won.

Lots of people are saying we can’t manage to put both cars out together, and that we only actually have one – the other garage is cleverly disguised by holograms. Honest. There is no reason that both of our car numbers end in 8. It doesn’t have anything to do with having to swap stuff over quickly at all…
