2014 Formula One: Laps Led So Far (After Round 10)

Mercedes‘ domination of  Formula One this year continues. However, the last time I ran an update to the number of laps led, there were just two drivers to report about, the Mercedes pair of Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg. In the intervening races in Canada, Austria, Britain and Germany a few others have joined them:

  • Felipe Massa of Williams has led two races: two laps in Canada and 14 in Austria.
  • Force India‘s Sergio Perez led 11 laps in Austria.
  • Fernando Alonso took his Ferrari to lead 5 laps in Austria.
  • Daniel Ricciardo led just 3 laps on his way to victory in Canada for Red Bull.
  • Valterri Bottas also led 3 laps in Austria in his Williams.

Remarkably, nearly 94% of the laps this year have been headed by the two Mercedes drivers.
