The Japanese Grand Prix was one of the better races in this last half of the season. It wasn’t a race dominated by one car, there were battles through the field and it was a bit of a cracker all round. Sebastian Vettel hasn’t quite won the World Championship yet, however Vettel will clinch the title in the next race in India on 27 October as long as Fernando Alonso does not outscore him by at least 16 points.
A meaningless record was also broken today as Fernando Alonso has now scored the most points of any driver. I say pointless as there are more races than ever now and points are given for more finishers than ever too. Still, it’s one less record held by Michael Schumacher.
By the way, the current F1 standings are here. It’s a funky couple of graphs.
What else…? Well, I meant to post this yesterday, but:
A workman became trapped behind a metal shutter leaving him stranded between the shutter and the stores large windows in Kirkgate, Bradford this afternoon.
TDF Clothing store on Sunbridge Road called the fire brigade after they realised that the man was trapped and unable to free himself. Appliances attended from Rawdon, Odsal and Cleckheaton.
Firefighters were able to release the man using hydraulic cutters and spreaders. Kirkgate remained closed to traffic whilst the operation took place. The man was released without injury but distressed by the situation.
Once released the man who has not been named was allowed to recover from his ordeal.

At least he was safe. That means it’s OK to laugh.
Did little bits of work, but not huge amounts overall. Band was good, although we did an additional hour beforehand to rehearse as a small group – although my drumming resembled a squirrel trapped in a pedal bin at times…
