Day 284: An Unexpectedly Free Evening

A disappointment this evening as the people we were coming round tonight ended up not being able to due to their young daughter being unwell. She will be well soon. This meant a freshly cleared evening to try and clear some of the items on our respective jobs list.

In theory.

In actuality, we didn’t really do any work, but caught up on some of the stored programmes on our Sky+ box – the storage of which was down to 14% at the start of the evening. It’s now at 23%. That’s some good watching.

Thinking about work, a fair bit of the morning was spent working on an information text which will need to be continued on Monday. Maths consisted of a simple investigation to find all the ways to make 10p (there are 11 of them), which I extended to all the ways to make 20p (there are 41). No one found all 41, but a few did find 11. It wasn’t a very thrilling lesson by any means, but it’s useful for developing logical thinking and structured work.

The afternoon was dedicated to developing 3D models of river systems in Papier Mâché. They are coming along but are taking forever.

After school, I worked on clearing out my email inbox. The number of unread emails had crept up into the 50s and it was becoming ridiculous. In the process I found a few things to think about for work.

And, thrilling as it isn’t, that is that. I don’t intend on getting up for the Japanese Grand Prix Qualifying tomorrow but will watch it first thing anyway.
