Today was spent doing two things I adore; making music and watching Formula 1.
The Morlay & District Concert Band played at Dartmouth Park in Morley today. There was a cracking turn out – one band member’s dad counted 102 people listening – and the band played well. There was just one piece of the 19 we played that was in any way dodgy, but nobody seemed to notice too much…
The last time the band played there it was a very overcast day and the concert was eventually abandoned as the heavens opened with thunder and lightening. That’s not a great feeling when you’re surrounded by metal based instruments in a metal based bandstand… (I am well aware of the Faraday Cage however).
This year, however, the weather was glorious! It took until the second half of the concert for me to feel at ease and begin to enjoy it. I hate being the man in the spotlight. Still, all was well.
The Belgian Grand Prix was ok – not up to its usual high standard of racing – but enjoyable nonetheless. I really must get this site up to date with the stats again – that’s a job for later this week when I’m bored of preparing for work.
I didn’t find a geocache today. Mrs Pitts did to continue our streak. I said the other day that we couldn’t surpass our previous best ever month, but I’d miscalculated and we certainly can. The cache she found was GC4K0B0: “Palma’s Suprise #13, Not a ‘Shakin’ one !” (The spelling and grammar isn’t mine).
This was a solo mission for Flash as Grubbly was rather busy today. I got muggled putting it back by the same bloke who was interested the other day. I know this because he asked if I was ‘one of those GPS people’. ‘Yes,’ I replied. ‘Thought you must have been with you loitering around there,’ he said. ‘Yes, we do a lot of that…’ I said on my way back to the car. Signed log although it was rather damp. TFTC
TFTC = Thanks For The Cache
