Mrs Pitts spent most of the day with a friend. Which gave me an opportunity to complete a fair amount of smaller jobs for school that I needed to organise at some point anyway. I had Sky Sports F1 on in the background while all this was going on too meaning I watched all the sessions that we saw at Silverstone: F1 First Practice, Porsche Super Cup stuff, GP2 Practice and Qualifying and F1’s Second Practice. Much was made of the two tyre failures in the second session with some teams possibly worried about a repeat of Silverstone – despite plenty of revisions to the rules between then and now which were designed to stop things like that happening. Pirelli are receiving a bit of stick for all of this, but it’s what they were asked to do. Anyway, we will see how the next few days go. This reminds me that I never updated the graphs and things after Hungary – I will sort that tomorrow.
Once Mrs Pitts arrived home, it was pretty much time to go back out again. We’d arranged to eat out in Leeds this evening – for no reason, just fancied it – and so out we went. Notice that we haven’t cached yet… that is to come (we did grab one on the way into Leeds though). We had a cocktail and a mocktail at Brown‘s, went for a calzone pizza in Prezzo‘s, then had another cocktail and mocktail in Brown‘s. The Light is very handy for this sort of thing.
Whilst out, a new cache had been published. This always creates a little bit of a dilemma – but tonight’s was do we have another drink or do we go for the first to find? We went for the first to find. The cache is roughly a mile from home and we would be passing it on the way back anyway. When we got there, it was dark and raining, but we quickly located it and found a blank log sheet. FTF number 30 was ours!
