Day 212: Sightseeing & Caches

Today we’ve  wandered around Chester a lot – visited shops and seen sights. One of those sights was pebble dashed crash barriers between a road – because that’s the last thing you need when you’ve lost control of your car, exacerbating the damage with incredibly bumpy barriers.

Anyway, these are the caches we’ve found today.

  • GC18BH2 – Chester Challenge: Not much of a challenge. It could be in quite a busy place, but it wasn’t too busy this morning.
  • GC17FH5 – Chester City Cache – Looking Up: A multi-cache where 6 places needed to be visited in order to find a final location. We’d visited these previously and this was collecting the final cache.
  • GC1KNRB – Phooning around in Chester: Another simple cache, nothing special really.
  • GC414CC – Harvey’s Chester Pen Pal: This was nicely hidden by Chester race course.
  • GC2P92V – Chester Grunge Cache: Not a very nice place in town – this was by the pebble dashed barriers.
  • GC3W872 – Chester City Cache – Return of the Plaque: This was another multi-cache as above. We’d visited the locations yesterday and picked up the final before stopping for lunch.
  • GC44AV5 – A Country Cache – This was a puzzle which, frankly was quite hard and I couldn’t really solve. The cache owner ended up being lovely and providing the final coordinates for us.
  • GCJMKZ – Freeview Zoo: The cache here was on the public bridleway that splits Chester Zoo in two. Hey, that rhymes.
  • GC2H2NT – Pretty Bridge: This was indeed a pretty bridge. There was a fisherman just underneath, either fishing or pretending to be a troll. It’s hard to say.
  • GC4DRT7 – Newton Hollows: The closest cache to our bed & breakfast. An easy find.
  • GC43J7Z – Park Life: Hidden in a Victorian Park by the River Dee. No problems finding this one. Grabbed while waiting for a free table at a local eatery.
  • GC3MZ9E – The Groves: The last of the day also while waiting for food. This was hard to grab as it was right by the river when the local rowing club were getting ready to go on the river.

My feet hurt.
