Day 198: A Summer Concert

After a few weeks of preparation, we finally showed off our Summer Concert at school tonight. It’s felt like a chaotic ride at times – a few too many cooks and all that – however, I’ve learnt that these things tend to work well in the end as long as you polish your bit lots! This was my first experience of this traditional school event as last year’s was cancelled due to rain. It seemingly precipitated for the whole of June and July, whereas right now we’re in the middle of a heatwave with things looking to only get hotter rather than cooler.

I was also thanked and congratulated by one of the parents this evening. I have to say it’s fairly rare that this happens but I cannot tell you enough how much his words meant to me. It’s nice to know that his daughter loved being in my class, but also that the work I do is appreciated by her parents too.

Still, four more days to go and I really hope they begin to speed up – they are dragging along right now.
