Since we get snow days, it should be right that there are declared hot days when life is just too hot to work.
Today was difficult overall. Every member of staff I spoke to reminded me how hot it was, but then moved on to discussing how lovely it would be if we were on holiday right now. With two full weeks and one day left, my general reply was that it would be great, but we’re not, so we aren’t. I still have a huge amount of stuff to get through with my classes – I don’t feel anywhere near ready to wrap up the year yet, and at the same time, my brain is crying out for me to stop.
Inevitably, thoughts begin to turn to next year – books have been labelled in readiness for a new class of 22 little delights but mentally, I’ve unfinished business with my class.
In theory, all being well, our Year 6 SATs results will be in school tomorrow. I’m nervous, but excited about them too.
Today, a new national curriculum was announced, the almost certainly, definitely, absolute final draft. Supposedly. I’ve yet to go through the details – but the draft versions were going to provide many difficulties for schools in their implementation. Changing the whole school’s curriculum is always going to be challenging, let alone when money is tight. Expect a few posts about it in the coming days as I take some time to read it through.
