Day 112: A Good Feeling.

I had a great thing to write about, but then my mind got full of other things, so this is what you’re getting tonight…

Not so much of a busy day at work – the usual things. The maths lessons at the moment are the busiest they will ever be. Today we looked at mean, mode, median, range, ratio, proportion and the 6 times table… In 55 minutes. Hard work, but worth it as they are improving in huge leaps at the moment. Their minds are like sponges and I intend to take full advantage of their interest at the moment. This is such a good thing to be a part of at the moment – I know I’m making all the difference to their maths abilities. The work of the last year and a half with them is finally all coming together like the final pieces of a baked bean jigsaw.

After work though was where most of the work has been done. The weekend was a fairly lazy one (apart from the manual labour of building two raised beds) and as a result, the usual weekend jobs had been put off! So tonight meant cleaning the living room, running the vacuum around the house, changing Kit’s litter, organising the bins… all the things that a Saturday morning is for! That reminds me, tomorrow night I must change Cappy’s water.

The main thing though, was marking my Literacy books. I had left some of them from last week which I had meant to complete over the weekend, but never really created time to do them. Still, I’m back on top of the list of jobs meaning I can try to get on with other things tomorrow night.

I need to rewrite the ending to piece of music for band. Some arrangers are great, but they can never seem to end a piece of music in a decent way. It’s almost as if they get so involved in other aspects of the writing process that the ending just seems to be tacked on at the last minute. I’m not sure that will be a job for tomorrow at all, but I need to make a start on it. I might have to find a clear weekend window for that sort of thing.
