Nothing massively important happened today. I dropped Mrs Pitts off at work as she was going on a residential with 48 children from her school after lunch. This meant that, after a fairly lengthy but useful staff meeting, I would arrive home to an empty house with a cat that needed entertaining and a fish that may be a little swimmier than normal – he tends to swim round wildly to get some attention. Or food. Usually food.
I had some plans for the evening, mostly involving catching up on some things I’d Sky plussed which had sat there a while. So I’ve now caught up with Top Gear and watched a couple of The World’s Most Dangerous Roads.
While they were on I worked on a job I’ve been tackling for the TES – Times Educational Supplement – which involves searching for specific resources and recategorising them as I see fit. I have a list of over 900 such items to investigate and tonight hit the 200 done mark.
My attention then turned to the school website which had been working a little strangely since the weekend. Turned out some updates had upset other parts of the site and I had to rework things to get them how I wanted then to be again.
Without Mrs Pitts to tell me when to stop, as in at a sensible time, then I somehow managed to work well past midnight, something I haven’t done since we moved in together. Silly, I know, but at least the issue was resolved in the end and it’s working better than ever. I only teach on Thursday morning normally and have a meeting in the afternoon to look forward to. All will be well.
