A Cat On A Treadmill
November, not the month, is an incredibly cute cat perplexed by exercise machinery. The power ballad accompaniment just adds to the excitment as she’s carried off the far end once again. Great!

Now then… last month I went to see a TV show being filmed at the mighty Leadmill in Sheffield. Said programme was Mobileact Unsigned, a hunt for the best unsigned band in the country. The episode was shown last Sunday on Channel 4 and I was thankfully unseen in the final edit. Yay! I only […]
Way back in February, I posted a story about an Air Car. And my misgivings about its appearance are still there – and things haven’t changed. But then again, people buy SMART Cars… Anyway, it seems that things are progressing and a market and infrastructure is getting ready for these in India. The car produces […]
How excellent is Bill Bailey? For those of you saying/thinking, “Actually, not very,” go and get a brick to hit yourself over the head with, or even better a compass… then watch this clip. It’s his love song… a slice of brilliance. Clearly a genius. Sensible now? Right, Bill Bailey has announced he’s going to […]
I know it’s rare for me to post three times in a day… but I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to post this. Possibly because of the OK Go mania over their dance videos. This one’s less well known but still amazing. It uses some high frame rate footage of stuff being […]
The third in my semi regular series, everything looks better in slow motion, brings us a compilation effort of various other clips. The music’s not really my taste, I’d recommend watching it without the sound – it’s just as good! Shown are: a cigarette lighter (number 1), a man with water in his mouth being […]
Entries like this are relatively difficult to write (and, for that matter, to categorise) and so forgive me for the stream of consciousness nature of it. Websites such as YouTube have come under fire recently for not doing enough to discourage cyber-bullies [BBC News]. Meanwhile, Tim O’Reilly, author of a number of computer based books, […]
The second in my semi regular series, everything looks better in slow motion, the ceremonial popping of a water balloon. This has been filmed using a High Speed Camera at around 5000 frames per second. Now given that normal film and TV stuff is around 26 frames a second, that’s some good frame rate.
The first in a semi regular series, everything looks better in slow motion, the cigarette lighter. Smoking may well be evil and cancerous. OK, no ‘may’ about it, it is evil and cancerous. But this video of a lighter in super slow motion is really quite interesting!
