Photos: RHS Harlow Carr – Good Friday (30th March 2018)

This Good Friday, we visited RHS Harlow Carr once more. We love seeing the changes in the gardens as the seasons pass by. In the bird hide, we saw a jackdaw, a nuthatch and a rat!

188: What is the future of energy?

This evening I was pointed in the direction of an article explaining how Portland, Ohio, is installing a trial of hydroelectricity generators in their water pipes.

I love this idea.

It reminded me of the Solar Roadways project, more of which you can read about here.

You may want to check http://www.diverse-energy.com to see more of my thoughts.

Everything Looks Better In Slow Motion: Number 3 – Compilation

The third in my semi regular series, everything looks better in slow motion, brings us a compilation effort of various other clips. The music’s not really my taste, I’d recommend watching it without the sound – it’s just as good!
Shown are: a cigarette lighter (number 1), a man with water in his mouth being punched (!), a man being slapped very hard, a cigarette being lit and smoked (I think), a man being hit by a water balloon, a water balloon bursting, a small explosion, a missile being fired, an automatic machine gun, another gun, bullets being fired trough various objects, various explosions…
I think the bullet through a water bottle is my personal favourite.

Everything Looks Better In Slow Motion: Number 2 – Water Balloon

The second in my semi regular series, everything looks better in slow motion, the ceremonial popping of a water balloon.

This has been filmed using a High Speed Camera at around 5000 frames per second. Now given that normal film and TV stuff is around 26 frames a second, that’s some good frame rate.
