It was 1999 when I turned 16, almost exactly 18 years ago given my birthday happens this week.
I was at high school, seeing a girl a little older than me and working through my GCSEs. I would eventually gain a standard (for the time) 9 of them – 1 A*, 3 As, 4 Bs and a C – in various subjects (English Literature, English Language, Maths, Double Science, German, Graphic Design, Music and Geography).
That would be in the Summer of course, however the winter of that year is not very memorable – I couldn’t tell you what I was doing this time then.
I didn’t have a website then, I didn’t know I was able to get help from a SEO company with it, that would all start the next year. I remember beginning to dabble in all of this the following year. My main computer in 1999 was likely to be an Amiga 1200 still, which was never online. A beautifully quick piece of kit, which I greatly love.

What else? I was playing the violin a lot at school and possibly took an exam that year. Overall I ended up with Grades 2, 3, 5 and 7, although I know I took Grade 7 in my A-Level year of 2001. I had just begun to diversify my musical experience as I began to be involved with the Morley And District Concert Band on keyboard.
I can’t remember much else about being 16 to be honest.
