For the past three nights I have performed a solo as part of Grange Moor Brass Band’s Christmas repertoire. It’s the first time I’ve been in a position since taking up percussion and the first solo I’ve done since around 2000/2001 when I was at high school. Tonight was the only one of them I was nervous for really. The others didn’t seem too pressured or cause me any panic, but today did. I think I dealt with it well, but I’m glad I got over the hurdle. I don’t know when or if another opportunity will come up to do something similar again, but I hope it will.
