Alive, I be. (There has to be the tradiotional International Talk Like A Pirate Day reference somewhere after all…
Life has been busy – with not a huge amount to discuss. Currently I am:
- working on the website of the school I work in. That began as a lick of paint but ended up as a demolish and rebuild job. The last few roof tiles are being prepared for adding and it should be complete soon.
- drumming more due to the sad passing of the long-serving kit player at Grange Moor Brass Band. This is having the effect of making me enjoy being at band a lot more as I’m learning a lot about my woeful kit playing – it is also having the positive effect of improving my woeful kit playing… my shoulder is hurting more than ever though. I also recently had to turn down the offer of playing with a band at the National Brass Band Championships due to lack of time to rehearse. It’s nice to be wanted!
- waiting anxiously for the next episode of Doctor Who Series 9 with Peter Capaldi – tonight’s opening offering was a slice of sheer delight which I thoroughly enjoyed.
- at the beginning of another different job role in school, and which I am really quite liking at the moment, since I could help students improve their learning and using their mind power for this.
- getting rather annoyed at the lack of extra time in my life for the things I like to do, such as geocaching, blogging and general geekiness.
- looking forward to seeing what happens in tomorrow’s Singapore Grand Prix after qualifying put together a different looking grid for this, otherwise rather predictable, season.
I shall leave you, for now with two things. The promise that I will endeavour to get writing more. The current job role really does lend itself to regular blogging and I must do that. The second thing is this rather lovely link to a slightly transfixing animation by the wonderful Matt Henderson. The image links to the original blog post of his about it.
