Today was spent making preparations for placing a new puzzle cache out in the wild. This puzzle has been something that has invaded my brain for a while and I hope is going to live up to the difficulty we are presenting it as. I solved the puzzle in around two hours the other night, so I know it’s doable. However, I know how the puzzle works. We have decided not to be quite so generous to other cachers and just present the puzzle for them to work on. There are some very clever people out there after all.
So, we found a suitable location today. That has been the stumbling block for a long while. After all solving a fiendish puzzle needs to be rewarded with a decent location and a decent sized box. I had hoped to get the box in place for the New Year but since we’ve had to order a few bits and bobs to supplement it that’s unlikely to happen. One thing’s for certain, there shouldn’t be too large a rush to get out there and grab it.
As a case in point, today’s cache was a puzzle that only 11 people have solved and found since it was published in late June. Weirdly, we want ours to be like that; something to frustrate people, yet really satisfy them once it’s solved.
