Another important lesson is being taught tomorrow. I need to make amends for producing something less than great last week. I think I am being reactive to the needs of my class, something I haven’t quite nailed in the past and that is one area I really need to show off tomorrow. Midweek lessons are always a little unusual as children are learning at different rates. Some of them are more than ready to move on to harder work, whereas others are in need of further support to keep up. This is normal but the gap can be wider in some cases than others. It’s nothing new, just difficult to get right every time.
Today was another reasonable day in school. The morning focussed on retelling a story in the form of a comic strip, a bit of singing – some beautiful noises being made by our classes – numeracy and preparation for my Christmas display. I decided to make my display based around the 12 days of Christmas, meaning that 78 different elements were needed to represent all the parts. That took most of the afternoon! I hope it looks as good as I imagine it when it is all put together.
