Most of today was spent in school, dithering over small decisions. Most of my classroom is back how I want it to be. Tables are ready with new pencils, whiteboard markers, rubbers, rulers and glue. My desk is tidier than it will ever be in the next year. Generally, it’s all starting to become a place of work again. Tomorrow it will have to be complete because it’s not open on Friday and Monday will have limited time for me to finish things off.
The afternoon had a small amount of time at home working on a few little things; some bookmarks for my new class.
In the evening, I went swimming with Mrs Pitts – the last real chance I’ll have for a while unless I manage to work it into my weekly routine. Mrs Pitts goes twice a week; once on Monday for a ladies only swim (ruling me out) and once on Thursday when I’m at band. Now there is potential to go on Wednesday’s but we generally have staff meetings on that night and it makes it tricky if there’s a lot of marking to be done. However, the urge to go is strong – I really wanted to go this week. And I’m starting to see some benefits too. Tonight I managed 40 lengths (800 metres) with very little fuss – my stamina really had grown a lot. As well as that, people at work today commented on my changed shape. I am a little slimmer I think – it’s hard to notice when you live in your body, but those who haven’t seen me for six weeks noticed a difference. We shall see what happens.
We also grabbed 2 caches on the way to the baths to fill today’s calendar gap, gain new souvenirs and keep our streak going. 7 till 1000 now.
