Today saw the wonderful moment that we’ve been working towards recently: the publication online of Flash & Grubbly’s Globberdyke Tour – a series of 13 caches and a bonus. Here is the route as shown on geocaching.com and endomondo from when we placed them out.

The absolute excitement as the first to find logs came in just isn’t something that I can describe.
This was the evening:
GC4D883: Log by The TwoMcGhees:
FTF at 16.30
Had been home an hour after doing a series this morning in Oulton. After settling down and logging our caches, refreshed our map and boom….new series in Cleckheaton. Within minutes, shoes back on, phones in hand and off we went. Grabbed this one first due to roadworks in centre of Cleckheaton.
Nice quick find by Jamie.

Scott was well and truly stumped at this one. Jamie had to get out of the car and help search. Had the cache in hand after a couple of minutes.

Waited for some kiddles to move on before heading to GZ. Jamie made a quick find once in the clear.

FTF at 17.50
Had done 10 of the 13 caches as FTF and had enough digits to determine a set of co-ords for the bonus.
Got to a likely GZ to find nothing. 20 minutes later we were still none the wiser, after heading back to the car to fiddle with numbers we saw we had correct ones. Headed back up the main road and Jamie soon found this sneaky hide! Favorite point for the “walk”
Will be back to collect other three at a less muggled time. Collected Deer TB that we will move on soon. Thanks for FTF badge

GC4D8A1: Log by Overanout:
FTF
After noting that the TwoMcGhees were on the trail, I decided to go clockwise around the circuit and try my hand at this, slightly off the beaten track cache.
As I approached Gz, I had to slow my pace to allow a dog walking muggle to wander off, so I used the time to pace past Gz to hone in on the exact location from both directions.
This one could be tricky on this type of hide, but the coords were bang on and I put my hand right on the cache at my first furtle… Great.
Very much overlooked here, I hope it lasts.

Didn’t find it I stopped for a quick look, but the aphids were busy making their sticky goo, so I left it for another time. Autumn may be good…

GC4D8AJ: No logged visits….
This all means that two of the 14 caches are still out there and waiting to be found. And I also can’t tell you how amazed I am at that. Normally caches are found very swiftly around here…
Which brings me to today’s find for us.
GC4DZ9N was published this evening (I received the email at 17:58) and was in a location close to where friends live, and therefore knew it relatively well. 22 minutes later, the cache was in hand, with a blank log sheet. We got a little of the FTF feeling that The TwoMcGhees and Overanout both felt from our caches today. The owner of that cache, TobyJugKenobi, would later find a few of our caches too! This is our 18th FTF.
A lovely day.
