I’ve spent the day and evening immersed in tests. Thrilling.
Spending most of the day in silence isn’t something I’m used to being a teacher – a lot of my normal day is spent discussing all kinds of things and asking questions, of course! Over the past two days I’ve administered six different assessments. The downside to this is that it all needs marking. That’s a huge undertaking and something that really isn’t very interesting to do or talk about.
Tomorrow sees the first of my Year 6 SATs this year – Maths. I’m not at all worried about it, I know those children are more than ready for them.
Of larger concern to me is that after next week, I have an empty folder on my memory stick for the final term of the year. That’s going to be interesting as I’m turning back into a year 5 & 6 teacher, although more literally than I’d like… no mixing, just teaching them both.
A nice day overall, if a little dull.
