Today I came home, via the garage after having a headlight bulb replaced, to find that the road outside our house has been dug up for the third time in an attempt to locate a gas leak. Now, my nose isn’t the best and I can’t really smell gas so I haven’t noticed a problem. Mrs Pitts though has told me a few times now that she can smell gas and we’ve often had men probing the area trying to locate the leak. It seems like a waste of money to keep digging up the same area though…
Kit has been particularly playful today. This morning she virtually danced out of the kitchen when I went downstairs and that was followed by her sitting on my lap and purring very loudly. When I got in the house at the end of the day, she had obviously been exploring as the pile of DVDs earmarked to be placed on eBay were scattered all down the cellar stairs. Sorting those out was fun. Her meows certainly told me that she knew something was up though! No harm was done overall.
Work wise, I spent some of the evening marking maths assessments – last year’s Year 6 SAT Paper A – in order to help me fill the final few gaps in the last few weeks of teaching before they are let loose onto this year’s paper. This is another case of third time lucky as it’s the third such test they’ve completed this year. Each time has thrown things up that I need to cover and those areas have generally become stronger points the next time, only for something else to rear its ugly head!
