The question on the polling card will be this:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Should the United Kingdom remain a member of the European Union or leave the European Union?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>With the options being:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Remain a member of the European Union<br \/>\nLeave the European Union<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I&#8217;m likely to vote remain, mostly because an unequivocal vote that way will &#8211; in an ideal world &#8211; put to bed the argument once and for all, and be the final nail in the coffin for those people who wish to leave.<\/p>\n<p>I believe that any vote to leave will create turmoil for a long time and we, more than likely, will be far worse off during that period. After that period, we may be in a better position, but the costs will be so astronomically high in the meantime that we won&#8217;t see that benefit probably for a further extended period of time, as the damage that the interim period will have caused will need some form of repair.<\/p>\n<p>Before we know it, a quarter of a century will have passed and many other countries will have taken over us. As people have said, we will go to the back of the queue for everything.<\/p>\n<p>The final thing that puts me off leaving is the absolute unknown element of it. Nobody can provide a straight answer as to what will happen, because, simply, nobody knows.<\/p>\n<p>I will be voting to remain part of the EU.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In twenty days time, this country goes to the polls for the first time in a generation to vote in a referendum about our future position within the European Union.
