Believe it or not, I am still breathing.<\/p>\n
I had hoped that the 365 last year would make me want to blog more. It has achieved the exact opposite. The thing is, there were many times where I had incredibly little to write about. My job being what it is pretty much rules out most of that for discussion on here. I can’t really talk about the things the children said or did, most of which are wonderfully funny and fabulous. I can talk about the lessons I teach, but that is inevitably dull. My passions for maths and quirks in numbers tend to be of limited interest to most people I understand why too. The F1 posts, though fun to think about and write, weren’t exactly the best either.<\/p>\n
So, the 365 thing became quite hard work in the end.<\/p>\n
Things have been interesting this year in many ways. There has been a decent shift in life that has made for some hard work but is ultimately proving more satisfying when it works well. I don’t really want to put my thoughts about that here though yet. I want to wait a little longer to summarise all that.<\/p>\n
I could tell you all about the wonderful things I am doing to change my outlook on life and finally tackling my weight. But… then again, maybe not.<\/p>\n
Here I am then, the eve of the final race of the F1 season, thinking about the blog for the first time in a while. I don’t know who will be the 2014 World Champion. I have known all along that it would be between Rosberg<\/a> and Hamilton<\/a>. I am not particularly fond of either of them, though I believe Lewis to be the better driver overall. A British Champion will be great for the sport in the country, the one place that does more than anything to keep the thing going, so I think I’ve nailed my colours to his mast for now.<\/p>\n I will, in time, update all the Championship standing graphs to reflect the development of the title race throughout this amazing season. I want to reflect upon the fortunes of the teams in the sport too – those who have found themselves in administration, those who make up the numbers, those who cheat to try and gain an advantage and the dominance of Mercedes<\/a>. Although, others will do a better job of that, I will get demoralised about it and never hit the ‘publish’ button…<\/p>\n I will, in time, write more but for enjoyment rather than wanting to complete a challenge and now let down those who read religiously (there were a few of them too).<\/p>\n Whatever happens, this site has been a part of my life for such a long time, over ten years, and it has opened up many avenues for me. I have plenty of different websites to look after because of my experiences here. The shame of it is they all take up time I could be writing online here.<\/p>\n Until the next time someone wants to find out about rotational symmetry<\/a>, or a picture of Ed Miliband<\/a> looking like Beaker<\/a>, both of which remain in the top searches to bring people here, I don’t mind filling a little gap of oddity in the internet.<\/p>\n I’ll blog again soon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Believe it or not, I am still breathing.
