I did say that I would produce some reviews of my year, and why not begin with the geocaches<\/a> of 2013?<\/p>\n

Overall last year, we found 460 caches. Our biggest month for finds was August, during which 159 were found. We went out on 237 different days (64.7% of the year), finding an average of 1.9 caches on these days. March was our worst month – due to snow and other factors, we only found 1 cache that month.<\/p>\n

On average, we travelled 12 miles from home for each cache, although 68% of the caches we found were less than 10 miles from home. 2 caches were over 100 miles away.<\/p>\n

We found most caches on a Saturday, although 60% of our finds were on weekdays.<\/p>\n

The first cache we found was PhilMyCache (GC43MA3).<\/p>\n

All caches have a rating for both difficulty and the terrain a cacher needs to cross in order to find the cache. This range goes from 1 to 5, with \u00a0half points also possible. This provides 9 terrain levels and 9 difficulty levels, giving 81 possible combinations overall. In 2013, we filled 42 of these.<\/p>\n

One of our aims was to try and fill as many empty days as possible in our calendar. These are the days we went caching on in 2013. Below that is our calendar overall showing every day we’ve ever found a cache on.<\/p>\n
