I’m not a fan of the number 123.<\/p>\n

It’s a Lucas number<\/a> – a number sequence similar to Fibonacci<\/a>‘s (where\u00a0the\u00a0previous two numbers are added to make the next). Fibonacci’s sequence begins: 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8… The Lucas sequence<\/a> begins 2, 1, 3, 4, 7, 11, 18, 29, 47, 76, 123… like Fibonacci’s sequence, the ratio between two consecutive Lucas numbers converges towards the golden ratio.<\/p>\n

It is a popular telephone number: the emergency number in Colombia<\/a>, the speaking clock here in the UK<\/a>, the electricity emergency number in Indonesia and the medical emergency number<\/a> in Egypt<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In the year 123AD, Hadrian<\/a> was the Roman Emperor<\/a> and work was well under way on his wall – Houseteads Roman fort<\/a> was completed in 123AD. This is my link with it, having visited the wall – although not Housteads Fort.<\/p>\n

There we go, stuff about 123.<\/p>\n

In my life today, I’ve done more odd jobs. Nothing massively interesting. The house is nice and clean, the fridge has food in it again, jobs on lists have been ticked. 1500 litres of compost was delivered, which Mrs Pitts has placed in our\u00a0raised\u00a0beds. I visited Helen, Ellie and James to pass on congratulations and birthday cards. In all, a lovely day.<\/p>\n
