This post means that 2013 has now drawn level with 2005 for the most posts in a year. Although, that’s not strictly accurate as the Temperature Conversion<\/a> infographic means that this is post 62 this year, placing it firmly on top!<\/p>\n

Today saw a little bit of work getting dragged out to fill what seemed like hours. I had no motivation whatsoever to get that selection of things done, but I’m glad that something is out of the way that has dogged me for a while – nothing interesting, just some paperwork for work. I can only use the phrase, “Give me a bit more time, I’ve been unwell,” for so long…<\/p>\n

I went to the final rehearsal for Knottingley<\/a> Silver before tomorrow’s Yorkshire Brass Band<\/a> Regional Finals Contest which makes for another very early start on a Sunday – need to be out of the house just before 7am. I’m hoping the band does well and I can help them to another good result like in Preston a few weeks ago – nothing major needed working on with the percussion tonight so I only hope that continues into tomorrow.<\/p>\n

In F1, testing at Barcelona<\/a> continues. Mercedes appear to be looking quite strong, but not in contention for wins just yet. Lewis Hamilton<\/a> set the fastest time today after all – however there has been no single team consistently on top of the times. Testing times are generally irrelevant due to the much colder than usual conditions and no knowledge of fuel levels at any given time.<\/p>\n

In my opinion, and from what I’ve read and seen so far, the early season is likely to be a battle between McLaren<\/a> and Red Bull<\/a>, with Ferrari a little bit behind. Lotus may do well, but they threatened to all year and that never really materialised into anything decent. Mercedes are probably at Lotus’ level at the moment. After that it’s seemingly difficult to split Williams, Sauber<\/a> and Force India<\/a> and that just leaves Toro Rosso<\/a>, who are a little further adrift, followed by Marussia<\/a> with Caterham<\/a> at the back of the field.<\/p>\n

Marussia, despite some financial problems, appear to have seriously overtaken Caterham for the tenth spot, with the field down to eleven teams following Hispania Racing<\/a> Team’s (HRT) demise over the winter.<\/p>\n
